A
- Direct Plagiarism - exact piece, paraphrase.
- Self Plagiarism - republish own previous work as present.
- Mosaic Plagiarism - using ideas and words from other sources without quotation marks, or changing words, but maintain structure of original.
- Accidental Plagiarism - Improper paraphrasing or citing original source without proper recognition.
- Patchwork Plagiarism - using ideas, phrases, sentences and paragraphs from different sources and combine into one for own essay.

- Student’s reputation: in schools, college and university - suspension or expelled.
- Professional reputation: Damage to career - fired and difficulty job in same research environment.

How can PLAGIARISM be avoided?
A
- Paraphrasing: use own words, not copy verbatim more than two rows. Include page numbers.
- Cite: Cite according to APA or other university guidelines.
- Quotation: put words in quotation marks and cite. Avoid.
- Citing Quotes: Page numbers, paragraph number of web content.
- Referencing: insert reference list adhering to guidelines (APA formatting).
- Plagiarism Software: Duplichecker, Paperrater free, others paid.
