Some belive the soul’s experience will be affected by the life the person has led, leading to either punishment or reward. Others believe the soul is given a temporary body during this time, which will be either light or dark, so the soul will know its final judgement.

Sunnis believe Isa will reappear. Some believe he will bring together true muslims, others believe he will lead a battle until Islam is left as the one true religion. Shi’a muslims believe that the Twelfth hidden imam is the messiah rather than isa, and that it will be he who returns.

Those who die believing that ‘there is no true god but God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God’ and who are Muslim, will be admitted to paradise forever, but those who are not Muslim will be sent to Jahannam
