What are the privileges of of a RPL after you have passed your RPL Flight Test?
- Act as pilot in command if:
- Aircraft is certified for single-pilot operation.
- Aircraft’s MTOW of no more than 1500kg.
- Aircraft’s is not rocket or turbine powered.
- Flight is day VFR.
What are the limitations of of a RPL after you have passed your RPL Flight Test?
- 3 Take-off and Landings every 90 days to carry passengers.
- Class 1 or 2 Med required to carry more than 1 passenger.
- Class 1 or 2 Med required to fly above 10,000ft AMSL.
- Fly within 25nm of departure aerodrome, training area, or direct route to designated training area.
- Flight review every 24 months.
What are the requirements to be granted an RPL after you have passed your RPL Flight Test?
- Passed RPL exam.
- Completed flight training and aircraft rating.
- Passed RPL flight test.
- Completed minimum 25 hours; 20 dual and 5 solo.
- Must be atleast 16 years old.
Having passed your RPL, can you charge money for taking a person flying? Is it legal to share the cost?
You may not charge for your services as a pilot without holding a CPL, but you are permitted to cost share with your passengers to split the cost of the aircraft hire.
You have passed your RPL, can you fly your friend’s C152 on the farm?
Yes you can, must still exercise privileges of the RPL if the farm’s strip is suitable ALA distances.

Adjacent to each seat, in easy to reach location.

- When life jackets are carried.
- Aircraft is flown at a distance over water equal to 30 minutes at normal cruise speed, or 100nm whichever is least.

Stowed in readily accessible location, or in a marked container or compartment

Beginning of the next day.
When should a water check be made and how is water detected in an aircraft’s fuel system?
Before the start of each day’s flying, and after each refuelling, or before each flight, through the means of a fuel drain. Water will sink to bottom as it’s denser.
