When is the booking visit completed?
8-12wks

What is done at the booking visit?
With midwife
- discuss diet, smoking, alcohol, folic acid, vitamin d
- BMI, BP and urine dip
Booking bloods
- FBC, Rh status, red cell autoantibodies, haemoglobinopathies
- HIV, Hepatitis and Syphilis screening
- Urine culture for asymptomatic bacteruria
When is the second visit?
10-13+6wks
What is done at the second visit?
Early scan to confirm dates and exclude multiple pregnancy
When is the Downs screening test completed?
11-13+6wks
hCG, PAPP-A and nuchal translucency
After Downs Screening when is the next visit?
16wks
What is done at the 16wk visit?
Information on anomaly and blood results
If Hb <110 then consider iron tablets
BP and urine dip
What is done at the 18+6-20wk scan?
Anomaly scan
When is the next appt after the anomaly scan?
25wks- primip only
What is done at the 25wk appt?
SFH, BP and Urine dip
What is done at 28wks?
SFH, BP and urine dip
Bloods
-FBC, red cell alloantibodies
-if Hb <105 then consider iron
First dose Anti-D to Rh -ve women
What is done at 31 wks?
Primip only appt
SFH, BP and Urine dip
What is done at 34 wks?
BP, urine dip, SFH
2nd dose Anti-D to Rh-ve women
Discuss labour and birth plan
What is done at 36wks?
BP, SFH, Urine dip
Check presentation- offer ECV
Discuss breastfeeding, Vit K and baby blues
What is done at 40wks?
Primip only
BP, SFH, Urine dip
Discuss options about prolonged pregnancy
What is done at 41 wks?
BP, SFH, Urine dip
Discuss labour and induction possibility
