ROSC MD Flashcards
What are the indications for the ROSC MD?
Patient with return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after the resuscitation was initiated.
What are the conditions for a 0.9% NaCl Fluid Bolus under the ROSC MD?
Age ≥2 years
SBP Hypotension
Other: Chest auscultation is clear.
What is the contraindication for a 0.9% NaCl fluid bolus under the ROSC MD?
Fluid overload.
What do you do first under the ROSC MD?
Consider optimizing ventilation and oxygenation
* Titrate oxygenation 94-98%
* Avoid hyperventilation and target ETCO2 to 30-40 mmHg with continuous waveform capnography (if available)
What is the ROSC MD fluid bolus for ≥2 years to <12 years?
IV
10 ml/kg, reassess every 100 ml.
Max volume 1000 ml.
What is the fluid bolus under the ROSC MD for ≥12 years?
IV
10 ml/kg, reassess every 250 ml.
Max 1000 ml.
What are the clinical considerations for the ROSC MD?
- Consider initiating transport in parallel with the above treatment.
- IV fluid bolus applies only to PCPs authorized for PCP Autonomous IV.
