What is the dose for epi under the moderate to sever allergic reaction MD?
IM
Concentration: 1 mg/mL = 1:1000
Dose: 0.01 mg/kg (The epinephrine dose may be rounded to the nearest 0.05 mg)
Max 0.5 mg
Dosing interval of a minimum 5 minutes
Max 2 doses.
What is the dose of diphenhydramine for ≥25 kg to <50 kg?
IV/IM
Dose: 25 mg
No dosing interval, 1 dose max.
What is the dose of diphenhydramine for patients who are ≥50 kg?
IV/IM
50 mg
No dosing interval, max 1 dose.
What are the clinical considerations for the moderate to severe allergic reaction MD?
- Epinephrine administration takes priority over IV access.
- IV administration of diphenhydramine applies only to PCPs authorized for PCP Autonomous IV.
