A

Nuclear Utilization Target Selection. the view that Reagan and his advisors thought they could win a limited Nuclear war. This increased tension as until then, the Superpowers ahd believed in the MAD theory.

A

Mutually Assured Destruction - the idea that there would not be nuclear war if both sides were armed as the threat of nuclear weapons was enough to keep wither side from firing the first missile.

A

It would give the USA an advantage and the Soviet Union would need to spend even more money on armaments to compete with the US. The Soviet Union was already experiencing economic problems and renewed arms spending might destroy the economy completely.
