Why was the council of Jerusalem in 49AD so important.
A
It allowed gentiles to become Christian without having to follow the dietary laws of Moses or be circumcised. this allowed for greater and faster expansion of the church and ultimately one of the reasons the church is so large today.

Describe the difference in the city of man and the city of God in Augustine’s book “the city of God”
A
The City of Man is a place where politics and war reside and Christians should have their eyes set on ultimate goal, The city of God (heaven). Augustine wrote this book in response to Romans thinking they were receiving punishment (the sack of Rome) for abandoning the Roman gods.
