Strophic Form
The same melody is repeated with every stanza, or strophe, of the poem
Modified Strophic Form
When the same melody can be repeated several times and new material gets added when the story requires it

Concert overture
Shorter opening to an opera, 1 movement long
Incidental Music:
Instrumental music for theatrical plays, an overture and a series of pieces performed between the acts of a play and during important scenes
Leitmotif
A melody that is assigned to characters, scenes, actions, etc. - often have a lot of thematic transformation, “leading motifs”
Character Piece
melodious and dramatic moods within a compact form often played on a piano- includes Preludes, Intermezzo (interlude), Impromptu (on the spur of the moment), and Nocturne (a night piece)
Concert Overture
a single movement concert piece for orchestra that might evoke the idea of liberty
