Q

How do you manage time effectively at work?

A

Can be different depending on different tasks and the magnitude of the task…

  • Familiarise myself with the task and time taken to carry it out.
  • Depending on number of tasks I will try to create a flow of work that is effective and efficient I.e. tasks that can be carried out at the same time, with similar timeframes, within the same area etc.
  • Complete larger tasks first, as you’re more likely to put off these tasks later.
  • Keep a clear and tidy workplace, to reduce visual clutter and prevent stress that can be counterproductive to time efficiency.
  • Completing documentation in a timely manner, so that is up to date and I’m not losing time completing it at the end of the day.

    • Entering WTG and ensuring the environment is safe.
    • Establishing and taking local control.
    • Filling out documents and why/what the sections are.
    • Explaining functions on the HMI and allowing the member to carry them out themselves with my supervision.
    • Explaining the work scope and why it is being carried out.
    • Documents and RDSPP codes.
  • I like to present the best practice, so no bad habits are picked up.
