Weathering + Erosion -> Transportation -> Deposition -> Compaction + Cementation

Minerals are dissolved in water, water is evaporated off and leaves behind chemical sedimentary rock. Eg. Halite, Limestone, Gypsum

- made from eroded fragments of other rocks
- shale=microscopic grains of mud cemented together
- sandstone=grains of sand cemented together
- conglomerate=pebble to boulder size fragments cemented together

- formed from remains of plants and animals which have hardened
- oil=animal
- coal=plant
- coral=sea life
