Robbery s.8 of Theft act 1968
Indictable offence always tried at crown court
Maximum sentence is life
Essentially theft plus force
If any element of theft is missing then there cannot be a conviction for robbery

Using force to escape can still be at the time of the theft – Lockley
Threats of future force will not suffice for robbery.
Must seek to put in fear of being ‘then and there’ subjected to force
The force can be against any person - does not have to be against the victim
of the theft.
There is no requirement that V fears force - B and R v DPP
