What is the difference between yellow and white lines?
Yellow lines seperate lanes going two seperate ways (think of a single strip of road) and white lines seperate lanes all going the same way! (think of a highway)
White Lane Lines
Crossing a double solid white line is PROHIBITED
Crossing a solid white line is discouraged, but in some cases can be crossed if necessary
Crossing single broken up white lines is permitted when safe
Yellow Lane Lines
Double broken up yellow lines you can pass
Single yellow lines you can only pass when necessary
Double yellow lines you can only pass to avoid an obstruction or turning into driveway
Arrows!
If two arrows point the same way that means that road goes in that direction continuously
If two arrows point different ways it’s a reminder of a two way street
If an arrow turns it means you’re in a designated turn lane and MUST turn

If a yellow lanes has a broken and solid lane together, the side with the solid lane cannot pass. Only the side with the broken up lane can pass
What does a diamond shape in the road mean?
Special purpose lane
What is a HOV lane?
A lane that you can only drive in if there are a certain amount of people in the car
What is a CENTER TURN LANE used for on a two lane street?
Used to help both lanes turn left easier, not used for passing.
What does a RED X in a lane mean?
Lane closed for traffic
