What is unique about intersections?
More accidents happen on intersections than any other place on the road.
What do the ‘right of way’ rules refer to?
Right of way rules allow vehicles to all move predictably and smoothly in paths where they may have to cross eachother.
When entering an uncontrolled intersection, you should…
1) Yield to vehicles already within the intersection
OR
2) If you arrive at about the same time, left side drivers must yield to those on the right
If turning left in an intersection, you should…
Yield to oncoming traffic, but if you and an oncoming vehicle are both turning left, there is no obligation to yield and you can both go in front of eachother carefully.
Pedestrians?
Yield to all pedestrians crossing
What can you NOT do at blind spots?
You can’t put wheels in cross lanes when edging forward to look
What is positive for those driving straight in an intersection?
Those driving straight in an intersection always go first!
How far behind a school bus do you STOP when it is parked with flashing red lights?
20 feet
What do you do when entering an ongoing traffic flow?
Yield to all already in traffic flow
What do you do to pull onto the freeway?
Check over your shoulder and check side mirrors
