Q

What is the benefit of Area Navigation (RNAV)?

A

This method of navigation permits aircraft operation on any desired flight path

Aircraft can fly point-to-point without having to follow airways or zigzag in order to fly-over VORs

The flight management system(s) onboard the aircraft computes the position and route by using a combination of VOR radials, DME, LORAN, and/or GPS
