What is the purpose of DEP?
The primary focus of DEP management is program oversight, administration and improvement. Effective DEP management will reduce the quantity of both surprise and normal attrition.

What is the purpose of the DEP meeting?
Prepare the Future Sailor for RTC and produce referrals.
What is the minimum DEP meeting attendance?
80%
What is a DEP-Flex Event?
An event scheduled by the RinC for Future Sailors who could not attend the regularly scheduled DEP meeting. All efforts must be made to encourage Future Sailors to attend DEP Meeting.
When are DEP audits conducted?
DLCPO’s will conduct DEP audits whenever there is a sign of excessive losses or excessive problems in the DEP pool, and when a turnover of the recruiter, RinC, or DLCPO occurs. Additionally, DEP audits may be directed by the CO or CR.
What is a DEP Turnover?
A full inspection of the DEP, including face-to face interviews with each Future Sailor, must be conducted as part of the DLCPO or RinC turnover.
What is a DEP Custody Turnover?
A face-to-face Future Sailor turnover between recruiter. Turnover will occur 30 days prior to the recruiter’s transfer.
What is the purpose of a Loss Analysis?
The primary purpose of loss analysis is to identify attrition and roll-out trends in order to develop a plan of action for minimal impact on mission success.
When are DEP Executive Screenings conducted?
Conducted by the DLCPO and RinCs 90 days, 60 days, 30 days, 7 days, and 24 hours prior to Future Sailor ship dates.
