Q

What is hydraulic action? And what process is it apart of?

A

The force of the river against the bank can cause air to be trapped in cracks and crevices. The pressure weakens the banks and gradually wears it away.

Q

What does high energy levels do in transport?

A
  • large rocks and boulders can be transported
  • nearer the river source=higher energy (steep course and narrow valley)
  • when floods=higher energy

Q

What does low energy levels do to transportation?

A

-only small particles can be transported
-at mouth-velocity drops(lowest energy)
This is when deposition occurs
