Officer is either told there is someone inside or officer sees or hears someone inside IDLH
Known Life Hazard
These 2 NO-GO situations are NOT to be entered without IRIT in place.

After entering IDLH attack team :
- shall remain together as a team
- NOT use radios and tag lines as primary communication with each other

If FFs enter IDLH without IRIT, exception report in comments section of HFD run record is required
Exception report
FFs shall not enter IDLH without IRIT/RIT except in following imminent life threatening situations

- Vacant structure with a KNOWN life hazard
- Commercial structure DURING business hours that indicate possible victims inside
- Commercial structures AFTER hours with a KNOWN life hazard
Primary task of RIT is respond to FFs in distress. 3 categories of distress are:
- trapped
- disoriented or lost
- injured
