A
it’s toxic and a gas at rtp so if there’s a leak it can spread quickly

A
they produce chlorine on the same site where it will be used

A
- water treatment: added to drinking & swimming pool water to kill germs
- to make household bleach (Cl2 added to a solution of cold sodium hydroxide)
- to make HCl
- to make some polymers
- to make solvents used in dry cleaning
- to extract bromine from sea water
