Risk Scores etc. Flashcards
Framingham Heart Failure Criteria
Congestive heart failure diagnostic tool
2 major criteria OR 1 major + 2 minor required
DeBakey Classification
For aortic dissection
I - ascending and descending aorta
II - ascending aorta
III - descending aorta
Stanford Criteria
For aortic dissection
A - ascending aorta
B - descending aorta
GRACE score
6 month mortality in ACS
TIMI score
For 14 day mortality in UA/NSTEMI
Dukes Criteria
For infective endocarditis For diagnosis: 2 major and 1 minor OR 1 major and 3 minor OR 5 minor
Framingham Risk Score
10 year risk of MI
QRISK
10 year risk of stroke or MI
Well’s Score
DVT
2+ points considered likely DVT
PE
4+ points = immediate CTPA or V/Q scan
Below 3 points but clinical suspicion then use D-Dimer to rule out
CURB65
For pneumonia
Confusion (new onset) (1 point) Urea > 7 mmol (1 point) Resp rate > 30 (1 point) BP systolic < 90 or diastolic < 60 (1 point) 65+ (1 point)
3+ needs inpatient management
Lights Criteria
Diagnosing exudative pleural effusion
Fluid protein/serum protein ratio > 0.5
Fluid lactate dehydrogenase/serum LDH > 0.6
Pleural fluid LDH > 2/3’s upper limit of normal serum value
ABCD2 Score
To quantify stroke risk after a TIA
Risk factors inc. Age > 60 BP > 140/90 Long symptom duration Weakness or speech deficits in TIA Diabetes
Glasgow score for pancreatitis severity (PANCREAS)
PaO2 <8 kPa Age > 55 Neutrophils - WCC > 15x109/L Calcium < 2 mmol/L Renal - Urea > 16 mmol/L Enzymes – Lactate (LDH) > 600 IU/L or AST > 200 IU/L Albumin < 32 G/L Sugars < 10 mmol/L
