What are the 7 steps in risk management that life guards carry out on every patrol?
A
- Identify the work, setting up a flagged area.
- Identity the people likely to be affected by the work e.g who is using the flagged area
- Identify the hazards including environmental, human and objects, eg Rips, waves, surfers, jetskis,
- Identify and asses the risks that may harm people, e.g Surfers close to swimmers, fully clothed swimmers
- Apply preventive actions to help prevent harm to people, e.g moving swimmers away from surfers
- Moniter and review regularly
- Action an emergency response if required
