A

Urban population of Paris marched to Versailles on october 5-6.The National guard forced Lafayette to join. They took Louis and Marie and National assembly to Tuileries palace. It was a humiliating procession for the King and Queen. They had less freedom at tuileries due to pressure of Paris Mob, it was a final blow to monarchical authority.

Fall of monarchy 1792

A

The crowd that attacked the tuileries on august tenth had a sense of collective identity and unity. They had support of Coderliers and Jacobins and planned by the insurrectionary committee. Counter revolutionary prisoners were killed. Direct action combined with radical leadership and organisation brought down the Constitutional monarchy.
