A

Third estate and some clergy joined together on June 17th and clamied to represent french people. Claimed authority from people not king.

Tennis Court Oath

A

Louis wanted to host seance royale. Closed 3rd estates meeting room. So deputies moved to indoor tennis court and swore to note disperse until France had a constitution. Louis eventually ordered nobles to join them, even though he opposed it at first.

Wave of discontent due to high food prices and unemployment. Peasants armed themselves and attacled symbols of feudal power. Loss of power of Nobles, but not many actually died
