What is a right?
Afforded to you by the government.
It is something that is protected or granted to you. Bit it can be taken away
What is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms?
A bill of human rights designed by the queen and put into law in 1982
It is enriched in the constitution
No person can take away your charter rights
Most rights are guaranteed to lam people on Canada
What is a freedom?
Something that is fundamentally human. A freedom is more difficult to take away than a right
What are fundamental freedoms?
Freedom of: Speech Free press Religion Thought / conscience Assembly Association
What are democratic rights?
Right to vote
What are mobility rights?
Right to move freely around, and live in any part of the country.
What are your legal rights?
The right to life
The right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure
The right to not be detained or imprisoned for no reason
The right it know why you are imprisoned or detained
The right to be free of cruel and unusual punishment
A witness that gives incriminating evidence in court cannot have the same evidence used against them
The right to have an interpreter or translator in court for people who do not speak English or French or who is deaf
What are equality rights?
The right to be free from discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability
What is the lords day act?
Because of religious freedom from the charter. Stores were allowed to open on Sundays.
What is a no-fly list?
People who have been involved in suspect terrorist activity or considered a major threat on an airplane.

What is ageism?
Freedom from discrimination based in age
Equal access to healthcare
The right to be free from discrimination based on disability.
Equal rights in the workplace
Free from discrimination based on gender
What are my responsibilities in order to uphold the charter of rights and freedoms?

The right to a fair trial of accused if crime : the responsibility to sit on a jury if asked
The right to free speech: the responsibility to not discriminate others
