Q

Explain how lack of socialisation and the under class links to criminality

A

murray- argues increased welfare benefits has lead to decline in marriage and decline of people working as they know they. an rely on the government to pay for their lives - claim benefits
therefore these people lack socialisation of traditional values of working hard
this results to crime as they illegally claim benefits and promotes this to their children who also follow deviancy and crime

Q

Evaluation of right realism

A

❌assumes all crimes that have a personal gain (rational choice theory) but some crimes have no benefits and perhaps are social release
❌only concerned with street crime and ignores white collar crime which can be more harmful to society due to its level of complexity and status
❌it’s prevention of crime doesn’t mean crime is reduce , just displaces - criminals move elsewhere where there is a greater reward that minimises the risks (rational choice theory)
