A

Brittish society today
- childhood is protected with laws such as working age and time restrictions , social services and safeguarding at schools

British society in the 1950s
- Children were put to work at the age of 7
- forced to long hours in factories and in chimneys
- children were seen as mini adults to also provide for their families
- children would also face severe punishments by their employers and parents
