-Murray- crime is increasing due to the growing underclass who may fail to socialise their children properly.
Murray- this is due as a result of the welfare dependency -more people depending on state -more line parents -absent fathers- boys turn to gangs for role models
Rational choice -right realists -Clarke
Argues that the decision to commit crime is a choice based on a rational calculation of likely consequences. - argue their are less risks of being caught- more crime
