Minimum fuel approach

A

Remain clean until 30 seconds before glide path intercept.

Then, gear down, flaps half, and adjust power/nose attitude simultaneously to catch VSI

A

Advise ATC you will remain 200 until glidepath intercept.

Glide slope needle coming down serves as 30 second warning. Configure and capture glidepath.

Emergency Fuel GCA

A

Controller will direct aircraft on to FAC at minimum vectoring altitude and glidepath intercept much closer to the runway. Downwind to final will be a continuous turn. Intercept final 4 to 5 DME from end of runway.

Control airspeed with speed brakes

Maintain 200 KIAS inside GCA box

Configure aircraft, retract speed brakes, and lower nose when you receive “up and on glidepath”

Use nose to maintain glidepath and 175 KIAS

When runway is made extend speed brakes.

Upon touchdown reduce power to idle.

Low Oil GCA missed approach

A

Simultaneously retract speed brakes and raise landing gear.

Slowly rotate nose to climb attitude.

When above 300 AGL & 140 KIAS raise flaps.

Power should only be reset if positive rate of climb is not achieved.
