Manifestations of SLE

A

• General symptoms
○ Malaise, weight loss, nausea and vomiting
○ Sicca symptoms
• Haematological
○ Anaemia (chronic disease or haemolytic)
○ Leukopaenia
○ Lymphadenopathy
○ APLS
○ Miscarriage
• Muculoskeletal
○ Arthralgia, arthritis (Jacoud’s arthropathy, symmetrical non-erosive), Raynaud’s, myalgia, myositis
• Dermatological
○ Malar rash, photosensitive rash, alopecia, oral ulcers
• Neuropsychiatric
○ Delirium, demntia, convulsions, chores, neuropathy, optic neuritis, stroke, headache, anxiety and depression
• Cardiovascular
○ Pericarditis, myocarditis, Valvular lesions, early coronary artery disease
• Respiratory
○ Pleurisy, pulmonary fibrosis
• Gastrointestinal
○ Nausea, Diarrhoea, pseudo bowel obstruction, perforation
• Renal
○ Renal failure (multiple mechanisms), haematuria, oedema
