What is the current treatment recommendation for JIA?
A
- Methotrexate 10-15mg/m2/week as first line DMARD.
GI side effects in 12%
Liver transaminase and haematological disturbances occur and need to be monitored.
- Etanercept is a tumour necrosis factor blocker given subcutaneously which has been shown demonstrable improvements.
