Temporal Arteritis
Criteria?
A
- The American College of Rheumatology’s criteria for diagnosing temporal arteritis include age older than 50 years, new-onset headache, abnormalities of the temporal arteries, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) >50 mm/h, and positive temporal artery biopsy. The presence of three or more criteria has a sensitivity of 97% and specificity of 79%.

- slow progressive asymmetric proximal leg and finger flexor weakness; painless
- dysphagia maybe prominent
- CK can be elevated
