Rheumatologic conditions in HIV?
A
HIV-positive patients have pain and inflammation in joints or soft tissues from HIV infection. They may have rheumatic diseases likeseptic arthritis, reactive arthritis, gout , myositis, osteomyelitis, psoriatic arthritis, polymyositis, fibromyalgia, vasculitis, and others.

- 1% of patients
- self limiting
- less than 6 weeks

Reiter’s syndrome (reactive arthritis)
A
more common in HIV postive patients who are HLA-B27 positve.
They are treated with HIV suppression and TNF-alpha antagonists.
