What is obesity?
A
The ABNORMAL or EXCESSIVE fat accumulation that present a risk of health.
According to the BMI classification; a BMI > 30 is OBESE.

A
- important public health problem, with increasing prevalence world wide.
- 50% of women in SA are overweight or obese.
-60% black women, as the fat intake of black SA has jumped almost 65% since 1940. - problem in childhood, Child obesity; 1/4 girls and 1/5 boys between ages 2-14 are overweight / obese.
