Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is ….
Autoimmune condition that causes inflammation of joints , it specifically affects the membrane lining of joints called (synovium)
Stages of rheumatoid arthritis?
1- synovitis 2- formation of pannus 3- bone ankylosis
شو يعني complete bone fusion
يعني التحام العظم في بعض
complete bone fusion بتكون في اي مرض

Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms?
1-Soft-tender-warm-swollen joints
2-The patient will feel very tired and fever
3- is symmetrical
4- stiffness and pain being worst in morning (greater than 30 minutes)
Rheumatoid arthritis different on osteoarthritis?
Affects all types of joints
Osteoarthritis affect the weight bearing joints
Rheumatoid arthritis most commonly
Fingers and wrist are affected in rheumatoid arthritis but is can also affect the neck,shoulder,elbow,ankle,knee,feet
Rheumatoid arthritis doesn’t just affect the joints but it can extend to (heart,skin,eyes,mouth,lungs,and cause anemia
In osteoarthritis the joint are only affected not the system

WBC start to invade the synovium causes that membrane to become thickened and inflamed
في stage 2(pannus) شو بيصير
Extensive cartilage loss
Stage 3(bony ankylosis) what happens?
That actually have fusion 2 bones together and this will lead to major stiffness in joints
Ra can happen at any age ?
20-60 years
