Because some wanted Italy to be ruled by the pope, some wanted a monarchy and the rest wanted a republic.

Worried, the Austrian army shot into the crowd and killed 61 people. This caused violence to spread throughout Milan. The Austrian soldiers were forced to leave and the revolutionaries asked for help from the King of Piedmont Sardinia.

Why were there revolutions in Italy 1848?
Because Italy was made up of hundreds of little states, each with their own rulers, borders and laws, and the population wanted to become a Nation-State.
Why did the Rome population murder their Prime Minister
Because they were unhappy with the way things were being run
What fines did the revolutionaries have to pay?
Many were executed for owning firearms and the wealthy got land taken off them and had to pay fines.
