presentation?
A
photopsia ( flashes of light) and floaters ( spots in the visual field ). some patients describe ‘’ curtain coming down over my eyes’’.

occurs?
A
usually months before retinal detachment.

causes?
A
myopia or trauma can cause retinal breaks ( through which fluid seeps in and separates the retinal layers.

ophthalmoscopic examination?
A
reveals grey, elevated retina.

treatment?
A
laser therapy and cryotherapy are done to create permanent adhesions btw neurosensory retina, retinal pigment epithelium and choroid.
