What does an RP need to do at the start of shift?
- Display a notice
- Secure safe and effective running of pharmacy
- complete pharmacy record
- Establish and maintain and review pharmacy procedures

- Name of RP

- The fact that the RP is in charge at the current time
What should the entry include in the pharmacy record?
- Name of RP

- Date and time he became RP
- Date and time he STOPPED being RP
absences (1) time he left (2) time he returned (3) date of absence
How long should the pharmacy record be retained for?
5 years
Changes made to SOP should include….
(1) whats IN plan (2) what WAS in place (3) who amended? (4) when did they amend
How long can a RP be abscent for?
2 hours in a 24 hour period
- should remain contactable for advice
- only be absent if pharmacy can run safely
- if you cant remain contactable arrange for another RP to be contactable

- sale of GSL

- professional check

Explain role of RP in relation to labelling containers?
RP needs to be in charge/under supervision BUT physical presence is not needed
