What does assess for danger include?

A
  • Look around and check the area around the casualty for any risks or signs of danger. Example: any moving traffic, boiling water, electrical current, chemicals

What does keep yourself and the area safe include?

A
  • Quickly remove any hazards
  • Ask bystanders to warn oncoming traffic

What does prevent further harm include?

A
  • Administer appropriate emergency fist aid for injury e.g. burn - immerse burned area in cold water, clean and dress the burn
  • Check the key signs e.g. are the conscious, is their airway open, do they have a pulse
