  • It is a legal requirement and they should be reported under RIDDOR
  • Should record all incidents to improve safety of others
  • If setting has to be closed families must be contacted

A
  • Alert people in the area
  • Call 999
  • Staff should help remove people from the building
  • Have designated staff to help people with mobility and hearing difficulties and dementia patient get out of the building
  • Do not re enter the building until it is safe to do so
  • Carry out a head count to ensure everyone is out the building
