Joint Responsibilities of the Tactical and Planner
A
PPVNE
- Provide a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic in their area of jurisdiction.
- Provide and Air Traffic Control Service and may provide a Basic, Traffic, Deconfliction or Procedural Service to aircraft flying within the appropriate areas of jurisdiction.
- Verify the accuracy of flight data relating to aircraft that are being provided with the above services.
- Notify unserviceabilities of equipment as necessary.
- Ensure that sector tasks are carried out in accordance with the specified procedures.

Responsibilities of the Tactical Controller

- Maintain a listening watch and conduct standard RTF communications with aircraft.
- Monitor, when workload permits, the activity of the planner and assist as required.
- Magenta boxes - acknowledge as appropriate.
- Co-ordination - agree when requested by the planner.
- Co-ordination - Issue instructions to ensure that when aircraft exit the sector airspace it is in accordance with the terms of a Standing Agreement, coordination or release. When aircraft cannot comply with defined procedures for transfer of control to adjacent sectors or units ensure that coordination is effected.
- Co-ordinate change of standing agreement in consultaiotn with planner and alert LAS.
- Up-to-date - maintain TDLs such that at all times they reflect all clearances issued, all communications received and amendments made to co-ordination by the Tactical.

Responsibilities of the Planner

- Co-ordinte the passage of aircraft not under the terms of a Standing Agreement.
- Conditions - notify Tactical of any applying to an aircraft.
- Clearances - issue joining and crossing clearances in consultation with the Tactical. Ensure any changes are reflected in the tools and notified to the Tactical.
- Separation - ensure exists at time of acceptance between NFLs and previously accepted NFLs and allocated XFLs.
- Separation - ensure exists at time of allocation of XFLs and between previously accepted NFLs and allocated XFLS.
- Standing Agreements - vary or susspend if necessary and in consultation with the Tactical. Notify the LAS if for extended period or to reduce tactically number of aircraft entering the sector.
- FDE - ensure amendments made by the Assistant as necessary.
- Up-to-date - maintain accurate electronic display of NFLs and XFLs.
- Monitor the RTF when primary duties permit in order to facilitate efficient operation of the sector.
- Estimates - ensure estimates and revisions are passed to the appropriate units.
