iFACTS Flashcards
What can cause a CFL deviation alert?
- Descend when ready or level-by clearance and aircraft has not started descent by anticipated top of descent point.
- Aircraft has deviated from the entered CFL by more than 200ft.
- Aircraft levels off before achieving the entered CFL.
- Aircraft does not begin climbing within 30 secs of entering a CFL.
- Aircraft does not begin descending within 40 secs of a descend NOW CFL being entered.
What can cause a HDG deviation alert?
- Aircraft does not achieve entered heading (+/- 5 degrees) within 3 deg/sec plus 15 secs.
- Aircraft has deviated from the entered heading by 5 degrees.
- Aircraft has deviated from the predicted path by 2nm (whn heading entered).
When will a TDB display a NO TRAJ deviation alert?
When no primary trajectory can be created because the system has no route and/or level information.
Alerts 3 mins before end of route/off route fix. Will not display an alert when a flight is coming to the end of its standard route but will still produce a trajectory.
When entering speed data, how does iFACTS differentiate between Mach and IAS?
Mach: two digits starting with a 5 or greater.
IAS: three digits starting with a 4 or less.
Can enter together with no spaces.
How does the LAD show InComm and not yet InComm flight interactions?
InComm flights, or flights not yet InComm but within the sector VOI, use a trajectory derived from CFL, or if climbing or descending the trajectory extends from AFL to CFL. The callsign label in the LAD will have a pointed left-hand end when hovered over.
Not yet Incomm flights outside of the sector VOI will use a single-level trajectory derived from the NFL unless an SCL is present. The callsign label will have a squared left-hand end when hovered over. The label will be placed at the NFL and may not indicate the flight’s current AFL.
When MUST the Planner use the iFACTS tools when considering an offer?
- Joining or Crossing requets including Cleared Flight Paths (CFPs).
- Late Offers.
- Holding.
- Vertical Coordination when giving away a Flight Level within the sector (including the highest and lowest level).
- Flights offered with an SCL.
