Q

What is the structure of the trachea and bronchi?

A
  • they are supported by cartilage to open airway and prevent it from collapsing.

Q

What is the function of alveoli?

A

Once in the lung, each bronchi branch smaller and smaller until it ends in a tiny air sac called alveoli (alveolus = sing.). These air sacs are only one cell thick for quick gas exchange to occur.
