Nasal cavity
Nose hole into the body!

Where the nasal and oral cavities meet!
Larynx
Voice box! Where the vocal cords live.
Trachea
Breathing tube! Where O2 comes in and CO2 comes out.
Epiglottis
Blocks breathing hole to eat!
Bronchi(bronchial tubes)
Tubes off of the trachea!
Bronchioles
Smaller branches off of the bronchi!
Pleura
The cover for your lung!
Diaphragm
Contracts to make more space/less pressure so that air wants to go in! And the opposite to go out.
Capillaries
Gas exchange happens here! Holds alveoli.
Alveoli
Made up of alveolar sacs!
Alveolar sacs
Blood streams around it to pick up O2 and get rid of CO2.
Acidic cause of CO2 making makes red blood cells want O2.
Right and left lungs are…
On opposite sides!
Asthma
Causes tightened muscles of airways/bronchi and more mucus is made that clogs airways.
Goal of the respiratory system?
To do gas exchange, get O2 to the blood and get rid of CO2.
