What is the trachea? What does it do?
Windpipe, transports air to bronchial tubes, kept open by D-shaped cartilage rings.
What are bronchi?
2 branches from trachea lead to the lungs
What are bronchioles?
Small tubes that divide from the bronchi and end in small air sacs.
What are Alveoli? What do they do?
Tiny air sacs surrounded by capillaries, it is the site of gas exchange and found at the end of each bronchioles.
What are the lungs made up of?
Bronchi, bronchioles, Alveoli
What is the diaphragm? What does it do?
Flat muscle located under the lungs, contracts during breathing.
Where does Oxygen and Carbon dioxide enter and leave?
Alveoli
