Non- Atypical pathogen that causes CAP.
Most common for Bronchiectasis exacerbations + acute epiglottis.
Staphylococcus aureus
Pneumonia, followed by influenza
Mycoplasma pneumoniae
Atypical Pneumonia.
Flu-like symptoms such as a DRY cough. Complication: haemolytic anaemia + erythema multiforme.
Legionella Pneumophilia
Atypical pneumonia.
spread by air-conditioning systems, causes dry cough . lymphopenia, deranged liver function tests + hyponatraemia may be seen
Pneumocystis Jiroveci
Common causes of pneumonia in HIV patients. Patients develop few chest signs + develop exertional dyspnoea.
Mycobacterium TB
causes TB.
Symptoms: Cough, night sweats + weight loss.
