4. Inspect from end of the bed: inhaler, oxygen, mask, sputum pots. Cynosis/blue, overweight/underweight, scars. Breathing difficulties, wheezing. Pursed lip breathing and tripod position. Stridor (breathing sound). Nasal cannula.
5. Inspect close up: kyphosis, clubbing, tar staining. Cushing’s syndrome from long term steroid use.
6. Palptation: check position of trachea- trachea should be behind suprastinal notch- sometimes gets pulled down like if have collapsed notch or fibrosed lung. Apex beat displaced.
