A
- Had TB Meningitis as a child
- Lived near factory
- Smoked as teenager
- Got severe paralateral phunemia
- Short of breath on excercise
- Tired
- If infection, ill for weeks
- Has rescue pack with anti-biotics, steriods, nebuliser and oxygen
- Takes oxygen all the time
- Cough, lose control of bladder. Need excercise.
- Can’t go on holiday, jog in park or cycle. Feel like miss out. Likes gardens with frequent rest breaks. Doesn’t want to miss out.
- No pollution trigger, but no perfume and hairspray.

Symptoms of COPD
A
- Coughing up mucas for three months of the year
- Haemoptysis: coughing up clood
- Breathlessness on exertion.
- If go to GP, get chest x-ray done, do blowing test to measure lung function. Get prescribed inhaler, and emergency supply for anti-biotics.
- Main cause cigarette smoking, chemical exposure and pollution.
- Two key actions: stop smoking and get medication.

Define COPD
A
Coughing up mucas for three months of the year. An umbrella term for a range of respiratory pathology including the terms chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic asthma. COPD is mainly diagnosed and managed in the community by GPs, practice nurses and community respiratory teams.
