Q

What is the main function of the circulatory system

A

Carries oxygen and nutrients and chemicals to cells. Removes waste products-Carbon dioxide.
Carries white blood cells that help defend the body.

Q

How is the circulatory system involved in cellular respiration?

A
  1. Blood carries oxygen to every cell in the body via the blood vessels ( arteries and capillaries).
  2. The cell takes up the oxygen and uses it for cellular respiration to produce energy.
3, The waste product carbon dioxide is removed and carried back to the lungs by the blood to be released.

16
Q

What is the function of blood?

A
  1. The blood carries oxygen/nutrients/chemicals to all the cells in the body to help in cellular respiration.
  2. The blood removes carbon dioxide from the cells after cellular respiration and takes it back to the lungs.
17
Q

What is blood made of?

A

Red Blood cells(carry oxygen), White blood cells (body defense), platelets (clotting), plasma ( liquid part of blood)

18
Q

What causes blood pressure?

A

The force of blood pushing against blood vessels

19
Q

Which other body system does the circulatory system interact with

A

Respiratory system
THe circulatory system Collects oxygen from the lungs to give each cell in the body and collects carbon dioxide from the cells and returns it to the lungs to be exhaled
