Respiration Flashcards
Aerobic respiration
Glucose + oxygen > carbon dioxide + water
Needs energy to work. Energy transfer supplies all the energy needed for living processes.
Sugar reacts with oxygen
It’s an exothic reaction
Anaerobic respiration
Glucose > lactic acid
Without oxygen
Take place in the animal cells
Glucose is incompletely broken down to form Lactic acid
The respond to exercise
Muscles store glucose as the carbohydrates glycogen
Heart rate > increase
Breathing rate > increase
Removes carbon dioxide from the muscles
Metabolism
Is all the reactions sum up in the body.
Energy transfer by respiration reaction in cells which heats the environment
It makes molecules or breaks them down
Example: glucose to starch
The reactions
The reaction of photosynthesis
The reaction of respiration
Glucose to starch, glycogen and cellose
