Is the spreading out of particles of any substance.
Particles move form randomly
High concentration to low concentration down the concentration gradient
Dissolved substance such as glucose and urea
Gases> carbon dioxide and oxygen moves in and out of cells by diffusion

It is the movement of water from a dilute to a move concentrated solute solution through a partially permanent membrane allows water to pass through it.
Isotonic> the same
Hypertonic> high
Hypotonic > low
